Convenient spot to do work
Wonderful unique atmosphere. Perfect place to get work done, aided by the Muses.
A lovely place to hangout or study for long time even to work from
Great ambiance and place for tea/coffee & getting work done/studying!
A place to take the computer and work while drinking a tea or coffee ☕️
I absolutely love it here. I get work done, read books, and enjoy some amazing matcha!! The energy here is always ✨chef’s kiss✨. The staff is also incredibly kind and diligent to create a space of cleanliness. Much appreciated.
Amazing coffee shop in the heart of Montrose. Frequented by neighborhood locals, it offers coffee, tea, wine and beer. They also have some some pastries. It can get really busy, many students come here to do work or work on projects. There is a big patio, smokers hang out play chess and socialize.
I love this place! A little pricey lattes but it worth it. Good place to work and work in you creating projects
One of my favourite cafe in town for study and laptop work!
Place used to be decent.
wifi only google is unlocked.
Owner goes around asking people to buy stuff, weird.
The owner is very rude and always seems miserable to be there. You also have to pay for the wifi, great vibe but the staff and owner ruin it.
I’ve been coming to agora for over 10 years. I’ve had dates here. I’ve had break ups here. I have had an unlimited amount of hours of conversations here. It never gets old. The wifi is really slow sometimes but honestly this place makes up for it in its rich history and diverse clientele. It’s so cozy!
i come here every once in a while to work/read.
the wifi is pretty bad so i usually connect to xfinity instead.
the cappuccino is a 0/5 because the taste of the espresso is gross and aggressively bitter. and it was served warm, not hot. tiny mug/serving.
nitro cold brew: good for what it is but I learned that I prefer either straight espresso, or coffee drinks with some milk in it.
tiny parking lot but there is some street parking in the neighborhood a short walk away.
it's always busy here so you are lucky to get seating downstairs.
upstairs seating is bad- the tables and the chairs are so short and small like they were built for elves. also the staircase is unnaturally steep.
in hot weather, the outside is nice if you don't mind tobacco. it only feels good in the evenings or when the weather is nice. and only if you get seating in front of the street as the side of the building doesn't get the same breeze.
Great atmosphere, great coffee, terrible wifi.
The internet is restricted. You cannot even use Youtube or open apple music on your laptop!! The rest of the services are fine.
Great place to get a drink late in the evening and have a good time with your friends or to bring your laptop or a book and get some work done.
It's a great coffee shop, and if you want to hang out with friends, it's got the perfect atmosphere for it. The only issue is that a lot of websites are blocked on the wifi currently, which can present problems if you're trying to study. Good luck putting music on in the background, since pretty much every applicable website is blocked. This place would be 4-5 stars if it weren't for that issue, but it's very frustrating if you have (for example) a school assignment with an embedded video that you were expecting to do upon arrival. Great coffee, great atmosphere, but guys. That wifi.
Great coffee spot, cool layout and cool/safe location. Updated my review to 5 stars because they fixed the wifi problems now I can be more productive there. wifi is now fassssst
I've been coming to Agora for a few years but only once in a while. This is one of two coffee shops in Houston that I'm aware of that stay open till 2 am daily. (The other is the Starbucks Galleria branch.) 98% of my visits have been in the evenings, 8 pm or after.
Agora is an older establishment and has an unique look and decor than any other coffee shop I've been to in Houston. Not a favorite by any means.
I've tried:
Chai latte (5/5)
cappucino (1/5)
white wine sangria (3.9/5)
monkey bread (1/5)
You could taste the bitterness of the coffee in the cappuccino, which is utterly disgusting. Worst cappuccino I've ever tried. The sangria had fruits in it but in the wine cup, it was halfway filled with ice blocks and 1 piece of fruits. Waste of money for $9. Tasted good. The monkey bread was dry. I found out on another visit that they have a microwave, which would have helped.
The menu doesn't seem to have changed unless it's because I don't come often. They serve candy, sugary snacks, beer, pastries, and other beverages.
The vibe here is interesting to watch. Typically it's just an individual on his/her laptop, a small group or 2 people meeting up over a beverage. It can be hard to sit outside if you don't like the smell of cigarette smoke.
I hate how the steps leading to the second floor are so steep. The restrooms have 1 stall but it'sill somewhat spacious for 1 stall.
I would come here more often if Wi-fi improved and finding a spot to sit indoors was at least 70% possible in the evenings. The wifi speed used to be better over a year ago when they kept the same password. Now the password changes on every visit and only available after making a purchase.
It’s quite hot inside, wifi was also a bit spotty, willing to give a second try
wifi is not free! Other than that, this is a great place with geate atmosphere for hanging out with friends or to study.
Very cool spot. Great place to grab a coffee and work on laptop.
It is usually crowded and most of with young people. Taste coffee and other beverages. Take your laptop and go.
Great spot for coffee or smoothie. Cool vibe but tends to get quite busy so seats are hard to find as lots of laptop workers there.
No outlets! What’s a Coffee place without somewhere to sit down and study? If your laptop or electronics die- you’re all done! I think the food, the drinks and aesthetic is pleasing- and the hours are awesome- but consider leaving outlets on the 2nd floor open :).
Good area over all!
Great place to sit and talk with a coffee or a glass of wine. It has a really European flare to it and you can just work on your laptop, play chess, or catch up with your friends. The coffee and fresh baked goods are amazing too
Drinks are over priced and for low/average quality ingredients. A small tea is $6.33! THATS INSANE. Cozy vibes and good atmosphere, but tables are so small and there is rarely any open space so you really just have to stand around and wait for people to leave. They have no real food (only pastries), so if you bring your own you will get in trouble and kicked out if you don't put it away. Also, pretty much every single outlet is LOOSE. How do people charge there devices if chargers fall out of every outlet in the whole building? I am not exaggerating. If you have a Macbook or any Apple product, their outlets do not support our chargers. I unplugged a small decorative lamp by the merchandise area so I could charge my laptop since it was the only outlet that worked - and they unplugged it/took it behind the counter. Needless to say, it's a hit or miss and depends on what you're looking for but not really worth it. I do like that they are open late though, so studying for long hours would be a plus if they got their outlets fixed.
Estuvo bien. Aunque siempre esta full, el ambiente es tranquilo y si necesitas trabajar con tu laptop está súper recomendado, tienen variedad de postres y cafés.
