Bad wifi connection. I have moved from 2nd fl to 1st fl, but still couldn't even open e-mail from laptop & mobile phone after 1 hour. Not the place to work mobile, 2nd fl aircon but crowded, 1st fl smoking section & hot (non ac).

Dingin tentu. Segar banget. Mestinya di tempat kopi begini saya pesan kopi ga sih? Tapi ya gimana, suasananya lagi panas...

Berhubung sudah jam maksi, saya iseng liat buku menu. Saya pilih nasi bakar, yg turns out tidak worth-it. Hm... gimana ya? Idenya bagus, tapi aku ga suka eksekusinya. Nasi bakar ini kayak menu pasta2an gitu. Bentukannya nasi yg udah dimasak (?) trus dikasih keju, bawang (lupa), dan tuna (apalagi ya)... sebenernya rasanya ada enak2nya tapi b aja, dan after tastenya agak bikin muel. Apa karena kebanyakan keju? Keju ga cocok sama nasi? Atau tunanya? Tunanya somehow kayak tuna kalengan, jadi.. kayak ketebak aja rasanya, dan rasanya ancur pas dicampur keju. Mungkin pemilihan toppingnya, perlu diganti, selain tuna?

Yang jelas, cita rasa ambience dan vibes tempo doeloenya Bakoel Koffie masih terjaga~

(Hari itu saya susah banget nyambung ke wifi. Sempet kesambung, tapi abis itu kelepas lagi. Sistem wifinya lagi eror kah?)

Cikini, the “Melting Pot”DIRECTION
The cafe occupies the old colonial house shop (Ruko) building at the old residential Menteng area in Jakarta. It is located at Jalan Cikini Raya No.25. Its strategic location near the old post office “Kantor Pos” and the performing art center “Taman Ismail Marzuki” has made Bakoel koffie an iconic place to hangout, meet, work or simply surf the internet while sipping a cup of freshly roasted Java.

It has became a melting pot where people with all kind of background and social income class gather around to simply enjoy their cup of Java; from artist to painter, writer to diplomat, politician to business people, teachers to professionals, student to journalists, all mingle together, sharing ideas, socializing, or simply working. The cafe occupies a building that was designed and build by a renown Indonesian Architect, Andra Matin. The design is tropical minimalist where the space has no wall limitation. Inspired by the Indonesian abundance trees and childhood memory playing under the trees, the cafe was then tweaked to be blanketed by vertical green and trees, hence the concept of activity based cafe “under the tree” is born.

It is a place to romanticize the olden day memory of people sitting on the wooden floor under the trees, sipping coffee while playing traditional games such as congklak, chess or perhaps doing some exercise such as yoga. Or simply socializing, enjoying the cozy and cool atmosphere of a tropical cafe.

This is platform Where people will feel welcome, even amongst strangers. That’s our goal

Love the ambiance, service was satisfying. Came here to work for a while, not too busy in the morning.

Billy Endson17.02.2025

Nice, very fast wifi, suitable for work and friens

Atmospheric coffee shop, a little bit overrated in my opinion, I'm afraid.

The staff is mainly very busy with themselves.
Non-smokers can stay on the first floor. The wifi signal is not strong. You will need a hotspot if you want to work here.

The coffee is the unique selling point. The quality is superior. And that's what brings people together here.
Definitely worth a visit.
