Lovely lounge music, big band chill vibes, and cozy nooks fashioned from old wooden art frames. The tables have painted glass portraits, and the tea comes in austere glass kettles on wooden cutting boards. It's very rustic and calm despite being packed most of the time. No outlets for laptop users, but they encourage not overstaying to let new folks in over time. Loved it, can't wait to revisit
This cafe is such a lovely place in Vancouver! There is so much character in this wonderful brunch spot. The food was fantastic. It was dog friendly with seating outside. The waitresses were very friendly and checked in often. They had wifi for me to do a few emails after breakfast. Their Turkish coffee was fantastic. Would definitely come again!
Upon pondering where to dine, my friend and I stumbled across Café Portrait. We were astounded by the decor, the hanged portraits on the wall are adorable and I love the idea. Even our table was a work of art. The tables are built to be on the smaller side, which enhances a feel of comfortability. There are walls on the side for privacy, but just short enough that you can sneak a peak at what your neighbours are feasting upon. The food was just as I thought it would taste, filling, yet I yearn to devour more. I would recommend. I have included picture of my friend and I with our food, taken with the back camera of an iPhone 13, put into 0.5. Otherwise known as a flick!
This is such a cute cafe. The aesthetic is super vintage if you're into creating content or like to work from your laptop.
