Been coming here for a while and has become one of my favourite coffee shops in Manchester including my partners.
It can be busy but for good reason, coffee is great, staff are lovely, food is nice and the vibes good!
Also come here to do my work so the internet is great too 👌🏻
Good coffee and cake, a little loud to work in though.
Food great. Service and general atmosphere lovely as usual. Was asked if we were using laptops on our visit when we arrived which we said we weren’t but we did have an iPad we would be looking at some stuff on. Server said oh great and seated us in the laptop free zone and said it wasn’t an issue. Half way through our experience, another staff member interrupted our conversation and told us we can’t use the iPad which was also switched off so not in use anyway but was on the table. Mixed messaging and to be told it ruins the vibe - what actually ruins vibe was someone interrupting our conversation to tell us to not use something that was switched off. Didn’t matter a screaming baby was next to us in the area reserved for ‘vibes’.
I had to hang around in town for a few hours between appointments so I came for brunch. I was given a seat by the window which was perfect as I had my laptop and wanted to check my emails. I had the veggie breakfast and latte. Both were very nice and filling. It does include avocado but I don't like avocado. Place was busy which gives it a nice atmosphere and vibe. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
They actually open at 10AM and the timings here are wrong so the lady will not let you in until 9:55 earliest. Luckily we only reached at 9:30 but if I’d have gone for 8AM that would be unbelievable. Furthermore, they do not open most of the area until later in spite of being a breakfast place. This leaves a small quantity of uncomfortable seats available for people to sit on. Some of these tables are No laptop Tables, which does not make a lot of sense early in the morning before food starts being served. I witnessed a staff member badger an old man who needed to go on a meeting and move him to a high seat table just so that he could use his laptop, though the funny thing is they were not serving food yet so there was plenty of space for his laptop. Odd policy that just doesn’t make sense. Anyway the food itself is decent, however the prices are way too expensive for what you actually get. £10 for some scrambled eggs and toast is actually ridiculous considering how cheap the ingredients are. These London prices don’t make a lot of sense.
