About FIKA Cafe

About

FIKA Cafe provides a welcoming escape in Toronto's Kensington Market, rooted in the Swedish concept of "fika," which refers to both the act of taking a coffee break and the noun for such a pause. The location's ambiance is distinctly Scandinavian, housed in a quaint, light-filled home that features a cozy room lined with old books and a secluded backyard patio. This venue is ideal for enjoying a peaceful moment away from the urban hustle. Known for their excellent coffees, teas, and housemade pastries, the café invites patrons to take a break and enjoy friendly service from their welcoming baristas. The cafe's logo, marked by the iconic Swedish Dala horse, reflects its cultural influences and thematic charm.

Cute spot to get some work done or chat with friends. Iced Earl Grey latte was excellent!

I remember a few years back, I had just graduated and was looking for a job. While handing out resumes, I happened to meet the owner here. The first words out of his mouth were, "Do you even like coffee?" I was taken aback, and he continued,"I bet you just want to work here because you think it will be easy, right? An easy cafe job where you don't have to do much?" I'm sure readers will be looking for the context, but there really was none- something had clearly set this guy off. I It was such a bizarre, mean little interaction that I occasionally still think of it years later. I thought it was worth sharing as the kind of thing I as a customer would want to know.

Popular but few tables free as most taken by free wifi hungry students. Go early
