A hidden gem in plane sight. Small quiet cafe with good food and really fast internet. So if you are planning to take your work with you, this is the place for you.
We could not be less impressed with the food and service.
So called “famous” dosa was whiter than I was when I came to Bali. If you think I had bad luck you would be wrong because my boyfriend got his dosa as pale, thick and soft as I did. Seems like a crispy golden brown dosa as I (and many other people) know it never entered that place. It also felt a bit like a betrayal that they offer just one chutney with dosa, and for the other ones you have to pay extra.
On top of that they first tried to charge us more by adding some stuff to the bill that we didn’t order, and then they charged us tax for so called “gratuity” that is usually added to the bill in Indonesia but is never meant to be taxed. When we pointed that out they said, our system works this way. So we had to pay it. Is it a small amount of money? Yes. But does it show what kind of attitude to their clients they have? Oh, yes!
So, never again.
Relaxed atmosphere, excellent menu, great service.

6pm laptop rule is quite stupid. Was very uncomfortable to leave the place and find something else during the rain. 👎
It seems this place values rules more than making people feel welcome.
I came to the cafe Friday evening to chill and do some admin for 30 mins before moving on. The staff informed me that they do not allow laptop usage after 6pm. When I asked why do they have this rule, they told me it was to keep space for the people wanting to have dinner. At the time, there were at least 3 empty tables at the cafe and I was at a bar stool. 2 more bar stools were available. There was enough space for everyone. Even though the rule had no application in that moment, the staff chose to uphold the rule.
I felt unwelcome, cancelled my order and left the cafe for another place which does not superficially limit people.
On the plus side, the staff were polite.
Edit: although Muse expressed a desire to personally address my review, they actually failed to respond to my email.
Great place to go. Great corner coffee with good wifi
Good food and service. Loses a lot of points on the music that is being played. The bass unit is turned up to a level that it totally dominates. The many digital nomads bent over their laptops don't seem to care. They probably have noise canceling earplugs.
Must add that the staff improved the sound mix a few days later.
Red beet juice, coffee, and breakfast dosa stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, feta, 2 poached eggs. Crazy good. Lovely spot over looking jungle ravine. Fast wifi. Not only was the dosa stuffed, but now I am. Best breakfast I’ve had in Ubud and I’ve tried the other standards which would be unfair to name. Pleasant staff. Good service. I drive by here every day and finally stopped. Big mistake because now I’m hooked and will be here often. Need to return for dinner when laptops are banned. How civilized!
