I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon expecting it to be a little quiet for a spot downtown, but I couldn't have been more wrong! The line hardly ever went down, and all of the tables/seating areas were full, so not exactly the working space I was looking for. However the service was friendly and efficient (unbothered by the crowd), coffee was good but expensive and interior was tasteful. If you hit it at a time where it isn't quite so bustling I would imagine it's a lovely spot to stop and sit a while.

Not fully sure there is wifi but it was so busy I was worried about asking so best be prepared either way!

So I’d like to start by saying the Google reviews that give Parable one star for price are wrong. If you don’t like paying what the full price of a coffee if, idk how to tell you to care about collective quality of life!!! You will be paying $7-$9 for coffee, that is what the full cost of a coffee is from using ethically sourced beans and growing methods through to the finished product. A couple other reviews also seemed to take issue with the staff having fun on the job. Um??? You’ll get your coffee??? Sorry everyone isn’t miserable making it?

I usually wouldn’t take the time to refute other reviewers, but there is great need for more employers who source their products with due diligence and pay their employees fairly and deliver a great service. Parable is one of those employers!

Parable has great pastries, coffee, and vibe. If you’re not a hater of people having fun whilst working and earning a solid wage, you’ll really enjoy the space and services.

EDIT: Coming back to this review after the fall and menu pastries and drink menus came out and both were insanely delicious and creative!

Delicious menu that I’ve been trying to work my way completely through, but I keep getting stuck at the Iced Matcha Latte(not pictured because last time I drank it in about 60 seconds flat)! Very grateful to know that the price I pay is going directly to product cost and paying the workers! I always see every employee working very hard while also creating an enjoyable environment for all who enter!
I’ve come here to socialize or to get work done and they have a big enough space that it’s possible to do both. They’ll forever have my business!

I want to start off by saying thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality the Saturday before last, when my brother and I came in with a $100 bill and instead off worrying about breaking it you decided to just give us our order for free and it was an $11 order!!! Whoever said nothing in life is free has never been to your place. That by far was one of the best things we had ever experienced, especially that day. We had just came from a place before yours and they said they was sorry but they cant break the $100. To us that was discouraging, but when we came into your place we felt almost like family. With your policy of pay what you like, its one of the best policies a company can have. I have learned in life that you can please some of the people some of the time but you can never please all the people all of the time, even when if its free. Someone will always have something negative to say regardless on how hard you try to please them. I am not currently working (because of a bad situation) and don't have much money, but i will for sure be coming to your place again and I'll be happy to pay full price just because of how hospitable you are. You are an encouragement and it would be great to see other places follow in your footsteps. Keep up what you are doing and know there is people out there who are pleased and happy with your place. I look forward to coming there again, possibly even today! Sincerely Brian
