Ritual Coffeehouse

Things have been hit or miss when I’ve come to work here, and it really just depends on who is working. It’s a nice place to get some work done or to catch up with a friend, with a pleasant backyard patio.

On the last visit, someone requested a drink changed drink because they didn’t like it, and the folks working said “ we don’t do that, we are a small business”.

This is valid, you don’t have to provide someone a different option if they didn’t like what they paid for. However, it felt like in that moment they wanted to make the customer feel bad, and as someone just working nearby, I didn’t like observing it.

Recommend Backlot coffee as they will remake your drink if you are unhappy!

It’s important to support small businesses, and everyone can have off days. It’s never about really the transaction, it’s about how you make someone feel who chooses to spend money at your establishment.

The barista was so so nice and kind. The cafe is very clean! My latte tasted so creamy and delicious! I came to chill and read my book. Definitely a comfortable and chill place! Would love to work here <3

Nice coffee shop to work with friendly staff.

In the neighborhood for work and had a lull, decided to walk in on a whim.
Got to tell you, the vibes are immediately immaculate. Cozy, record player playing classic hits, and greeted by the friendly staff.
Their chai tea latte was PERFECT to my tastes, and the Apple Caramel muffin was delicious! If I lived in the neighborhood, THIS would be my spot. Keep up the great work Ritual Team!!

super cute and cozy and warm. the staff were friendly and welcoming. had a delicious mocha! highly recommend also for sitting and doing work.

I biked here on a 90 degree day after 3 failed coffee house attempts to find a working Print-with-me kiosk. Ritual’s worked perfectly, AND it was located right under the blasting air conditioner which was fantastic. Treated myself to a toasted everything bagel and a Cortado which was the perfect size, temp, and texture. Baristas were super nice and the shop was clean and calm. Go here 😍

I've been here a couple of times now.

The baked goods are always delicious but sometimes unappetizing because of the occasional fly near the exposed case.

The staff is friendly and the turmeric ginger honey latte is delicious Iced or hot. When I ordered a chai latte, the anise flavor was really strong and the loose-leaf tea left a lot of bits changing the texture of the beverage.

Seating is limited, but when the weather is nice the garden area is lovely.

It's the kind of cafe where you can sit for hours and work alongside others or meet with a group of friends.

I like Ritual’s ambiance and coffee is excellent.
But what about those awesome in-house baked pastries that are almost never on display because they are gone by 11am ?
You working hours are truly great.
I would love to visit Ritual more frequently, but knowing there is nothing to snack on to with my coffee, is just really discouraging.

Please consider to have more of your baked goods throughout the day.

A local non-chain coffee house that’s open until 10 PM daily and it’s right off the CTA Irving Park Brown Line station. Most local coffee shops do not tick off the boxes that way.
A real gem of a coffee shop.
Menu is very straight forward and simple/no frills.
The decor is a mix of industrial, nothing pretentious and adorned with vintage vinyls all throughout the shop.

wifi is great by the way!

Cute coffee shop right off the brown line. Service is amazing and everyone is super attentive. wifi is great and there is a cute patio in the back with plenty of seating. High recommend!

Simply a perfect coffeeshop experience. Great atmosphere, from vinyl music in the front to a verdant back patio brimming with flowers and herbs. Reliable wifi and plenty of seating options makes this an excellent remote work spot too.
