About
Spicer+Cole is a collection of four independent cafés located in the heart of Bristol. Their philosophy focuses on enjoying delicious food and good coffee in a welcoming, light-filled space. Each café is situated in lovely locations such as Finzels Reach, leafy Queen Square, and vibrant Clifton Village. They take pride in offering artisan coffee and loose-leaf tea alongside super-fresh seasonal food, all made from scratch in their kitchens daily. With options ranging from breakfast to lunch, coffee, and cake, every dish is prepared with care and passion. The atmosphere invites guests to eat, drink, meet, and think, reflecting a commitment to creating a space that nourishes both body and soul, fostering community and enjoyment.
Food
Good food equals happy people, and the team at Spicer+Cole takes pride in cooking dishes that their customers love. Nearly everything they offer is made in-house. They emphasize locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and only work with suppliers who share their values, like Ruby & White Butchers and Bruton Dairy. The counter is piled high with tarts, frittatas, salads, cakes, and pastries, inspired by continental market stalls. The breakfast menu includes homemade granola and avocado toast, ideal for starting the day, while long weekend brunches and lunches provide a leisurely experience. Special dietary needs, such as dairy or gluten-free options, are also catered for.
Coffee & Drinks
The coffee at Spicer+Cole is not only delicious but also ethically sourced. Their house espresso is a stunning South American blend, crafted by Extract Coffee nearby, using a lovingly restored 1955 Probart roaster named Betty. This blend combines Colombian, Peruvian, and El Salvadorian beans to produce a sweet, big-bodied espresso that is delightful both with and without milk. They also offer guest single-origin coffees from nearby and far-off roasters. Their loose-leaf tea comes from Born Wild Tea in Cheltenham, a partner equally obsessed with quality.

I recently stopped by Spicer and Cole, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The space is beautifully clean, cozy, and perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying some "me-time" with a good book.
The coffee is simply amazing—rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. It’s exactly what you want when you’re craving that perfect cup of cortado. And for those of us who work on the go, the internet connection is reliable, making it an ideal place to get some work done while enjoying your drink.
But what really makes Spicer and Cole special is the friendly service. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, and their genuine smiles and helpful attitude make a big difference. Thank you for my orange cake.
If you're looking for a spot that combines great coffee, a lovely ambiance, and top-notch service, Spicer and Cole is definitely worth a visit.
