I want to give a glowing review for this place, so so badly - I mean its an old fire station with cool old americana engineering everywhere.
I will sum up my review in one sentence - FLOOR MILK MOP HANDS! I was waiting for our food, someone behind the counter dropped ALL the milk (like a lot of milk) and the woman started mopping up the floor milk with her bare hands, and then.....SHE HANDED ME MY MUFFIN! As in wiped the floor milk off of her hands with her shirt, reached in and grabbed my MUFFIN! My jaw dropped, mostly from the vomit in my mouth from disgust.
FLOOR MILK MOP HANDS!
Also, no outlets if your laptop is down!
Double ALSO who amplifies a HARP! SO LOUD...the harp.
Great space to work remotely - plenty of tables, mostly quiet yet active, easily accessible bathrooms, quiet neighborhood, wifi strong enough for meetings. Plenty of pastries, none of them blew my mind but enough to keep your needs satiated. Note: there are not plugs for power cords so don’t go with a dead laptop or phone!
There’s no customer outlets.. what’s the point of a coffee shop if you can’t plug in your laptop to get work done. I had to have her cancel my coffee order and leave for another coffee shop.
No microwave to warm food, limited seating, no outlets to plug in your laptop. Not a good place to get some work done. Coffee was ok..
Big space to work from. Coffee is great!
Amazing coffee, pastries and a great place to work from with good wifi.
Fantastic environment for working, a quick stop, or meeting with a friend. Great atmosphere that encourages socialization with wide open firehouse doors in the summertime, and hot drinks when you need to get cozy. All around a great regularly spot for anyone in the highlands!
The café is located in a beautiful building that it was actually a fire fighter station. It has a beautiful garden outside. And is perfect for productive work. Coffee was great and very fresh! Definitely recommend it. I also met the owners super nice and hospitable guys!
Another aesthetic but impractical cafe experience. Highly rated for wifi and vibes, there’s not a SINGLE outlet for public use. It’s fine if you wanna create a space that encourages more human connection but at some point you gotta take a moment and notice that the cafe is open during the work day and 80% of customers have their computer open. I was visiting from out of town and never thought I had to ask if this place was up to date with 2022 😅
2 stars cuz the cardamom pistachio Bundt cake was AMAZING (outsourced of course), but the lack of outlets and a disgustingly spicy chai (and I like my chai spicy!) is the justification for such a bad review.
$11 for chai and a breakfast pastry and now i have to buy another coffee somewhere else.
Great open atmosphere and when it is full of people it is still a great place to get work done with a cup of coffee.
