| TLDR | White Chocolate Latte is a solid choice, relaxing chat space, and a unique coffeeshop right off of Broadway. Now here's the inside scoop:
| Pros |
☕ Coffee: tasty run-of-the-mill lattes with large assortment of syrups (hot latte 12oz = $5.50 w/o tax)
🛋️ Seating: ample seating, blue couch, classic wooden chairs, and independent study tables too
📶 Great wifi: clocking in at an avg. of 153 Mbps, you'll be able to take Zoom meetings with ease (I just asked for the wifi code since I didn't see it haha)
| Things to Consider |
🔌outlets: at least for most seats here, no outlets were present. Not sure if this'll change, but would be dope since the WFH scene in Edgewater is strong!
Overall, Tim and his staff were very welcoming hosts and have an eye for quality coffee, hospitality, and customer care. If you ever wondered which coffeeshop to visit in Edgewater that'll give you some small-town coffeeshop vibes, check out The Lost Hours!
Friendly service. Good quiche and latte! Great vibes inside. I’d definitely come here with my laptop to work if I lived in Chicago.
So glad this place opened up! The neighborhood needed a sunny, welcoming cafe again. The staff is kind and polite and they *finally* made the washroom nice (the last few cafes pretty much ignored it and you used it as a last resort). There is wifi that is a little wonky to get onto but works well once you're on. The focus is on coffee, so while there are tea offerings, it's a few brands of Twinings. Hopefully, once they get their feet under them, there will be some quality looseleaf offerings. Definitely excited to become a regular here.
Im a big fan of Lost Hours, I have made at least five visits on various days of the week to spend time working from my laptop. I like the plentiful seating and the staff is consistently very nice. My only 2 suggestions would be to keep more stocked on the pastries and baked goods from local bakeries. Many times they are out of popular items. I would spend more money if they carried More bakery items. My other suggestion would be to not limit the wifi use to only a certain amount of hours. As soon as those limited hours are up or if they don’t have my favorite pastries I leave, when I would love to stay and spend more money.
