Welcome to Uptown Espresso, the home of Velvet Foam! Established in 1984 at the bottom of historic and trendy Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Uptown Espresso was a pioneer in the emerging Seattle coffee scene. It quickly developed a devoted following of discerning coffee drinkers who discovered a remarkable experience, made possible by expert baristas, a proprietary coffee roast, handmade bakery treats, a cool and comfortable atmosphere, and something called Velvet Foam. After Dow Lucurell’s passing in July 2018, Paul Odom, the owner of Fonté Coffee Roaster, acquired Uptown Espresso. Today, with six locations throughout Seattle, Uptown Espresso continues its devotion that includes an attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Drop the attitude you work in a shop
Good coffee but limited options! Really nice work space as it feels more business/work-centric - music is sometimes a bit too loud
Great local coffee spot. One few places in the area with ample seating to take a meeting or work from. Large windows and good wifi. Baristas are wonderful, coffee is consistent, and the manager cares about the customers.
Great place to get work done, study or chill. I randomly found this place and love! It’s super spacious with big tables (and lots of plug ins!!!!). The coffee taste good as well as bakery items. The barista was super friendly which made my day 😊 i’ll be coming here more often
